COOL GIRL WINS COSMO'S 'BEST DRY VOLUME SPRAY'
Q: SO HOW DID IT BECOME AN ICON AND THE MOST-AWARDED AND NUMBER 1 SELLING PRODUCT?
Cool Girl Texture Mist shot to fame as the easiest way for anyone to get my signature undone, effortlessly tousled look – no styling skills required. And its beautiful fragrance is inspired by my garden, making it a joy to use.
Q: WHY WAS IT THE FIRST PRODUCT IN YOUR KIT?
I launched it in June 2017 alongside three other dry stylers. All four were created to use on dry hair to instantly transform the hair in various ways. The launch line-up was completed with Lazy Girl Dry Shampoo, Easy Up-Do Texture Spray and Modern Hairspray - making this a collection of four products that are core to my kit – the ones I reach for backstage at shows, red carpets and cover shoots to instantly transform any hair and create any hair look. I wanted to make my styling expertise available to everyone so they had the power to transform their hair at home and style it without fear of getting it wrong.
Q: WHAT RESULTS WERE YOU LOOKING FOR?
Instant transformation… instant confidence... and instantly brush-out-able when you're done with your Do.
Q: HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH THE NAME?
'Cool Girl Hair' is a term that fashion and beauty editors have used for years to describe what I do, so it made sense to use it. It's achievable, aspirational, and limitless - you can be a Cool Girl with short hair, long hair, at any age, at any occasion… it's a feeling, a mood of freedom and confidence.
Q: WHAT IS YOUR TRICK TO COOL GIRL HAIR?
Cool Girl is a texturizing spray that will add instant volume and texture to any style. It’s not a hairspray or setting spray, so how you use it makes all the difference. To get the look on dry hair, shake the can well before use, lift your hair upwards in sections, and mist small amounts evenly on the crown through to mid-lengths and ends, section by section. Mess it up. Repeat to add more texture and volume if needed. Or throw your head upside down and spray liberally through the hair and into the roots. Done!
