AS LOVED BY INDIA KNIGHT
Sam x

Summer hair! I always imagine "tousled waves" and more often end up with "stuck to my head from the heat and frizzing like mad." To me hair that looks too done doesn't really belong to summer - ideally you want something that looks like you haven't tried.
Back to tousled waves. It used to be easy: you went swimming in the sea and, lo, holiday hair, albeit slightly crunchy and smelling of seaweed. In the absence of sea, you used a salty spray for much the same effect - and the same unwelcome stiff crunchiness.
Now the super stylist Sam McKnight, whose products are really uniformly excellent, has got in on the act with his Hair by Sam McKnight Sundaze Sea Spray, and it is perfection: all of the tousle, none of the crunch, plus it protects from UV rays.
You can use it on wet or dry hair - it creates instant texture, but softly, meaning your hair moves and looks completely natural (but better). The more you put on, the more texture you get. I sometimes use dry shampoo on my roots for a bit of oomph and lift, and this does that a million times better and with no powderiness. But mostly I’ve been using it on lightly towel-dried hair, scrunched like in the Eighties and then left entirely alone to dry naturally. You get a very un-Eighties finish (thank goodness) - the elusive tousled waves but with zero rigidity.
